Blood effect in PhotoShop

In some of my wallpapers, Ive made people bleeding, looking as they had accidents, fights etc.
Well making people bleed or giving them blue marks is actually quite easy to do in PhotoShop. Take a picture of yourself, or someone you want to make "bleeding". Either take a face picture, or a full body pic, doesnt matter really. The method will be the same, just the way you use it, will be diffrent.
This tutorial will show you the "dried" blood effect, but you can achieve "fresh cuts" as well, wiht a few modifications and more time.

Thats the pic I started off with. Just found it somewhere on google.
Well here we got a nice area on her arm to work with. Lots of skin :). Get a similar picture, or use this one, if you cant find one
It is quite important that your picture has a decent resolution to work with, otherwise the end result wont look to realistic at all.

Here I started using the Burn Tool, with the "highlight" range selected. (You can select ranges in the options toolbar, in the dropdown box there)

Use a fairly large and smooth brush, exposure set to 15-20%. Draw some basic areas where the blood should be.

Now I started adding depth to it, with the Shadow and Midtones ranges selected. Using a smaller and sharper brush,
Play around with the exposure setting to achieve good results.

Now use a very small brush, choose the shadow range, and start making small lines all around the wound.
Use the smudge tool to blur those lines out a bit

Play around a bit more with the burn tool, and you will release that you can make soo many more cool
effects with it. If you want fresher blood, use the shadow range a bit more. You can also brush some red into the area, and blur it out.
