Diffrent more photo realistic technique for removing red eyes
There are many tutorials, and ways out there for removing
red eyes, there are even magic programs which have red eye correction,
but do they really work? If you are trying to print out a high dpi
image, or simple want those red eyes of your family image to disappear,
then this is the way to do it.
The only additonal image you need, is an image of
the person where he/she does not have red eyes, or a person having
similar looking eyes. (same eye color, same shape/size of eye balls)
Load up the image, in photoshop.

Look for an alternative image, where the eyes are
in there normal color.

Copy the image into the file with the "red
eyes", and set the opacity so you can see both images.

Use the free transform tool, (CTRL + T) to resize
and rotate the image, so the eyes more or less overmap.(if they
just dont want to overlap, cut the photo into two pieces and place
them individually)
(be sure to select "maintain aspect ration, when u resize images,
otherwise the eyes might turn out egg shaped)

Once the image(s) are in position, make a selection
around the eye, and remove the rest. (Select the inverste and delete
it - CTRL+SHIFT+I, then hit DEL)

So far so good. Now take out the Eraser Tool (E)
and select a soft rounded brush. now erase the stuff around the
eyeballs, actually you can delete everything besides the iris. Be
sure not to go to close to the iris with the eraser otherwise you
might delete bits of the iris as well, so the red color might shine
through at points.

Do the same for the other eye, and voila! You are
done.
TIP: How to minimise red eyes when
taking photos:
Well red eyes are caused by flash
lights, when taking pictures. Our retina is wide open when the first
flash reaches our eye, therefor the red blood cells in our eye are
reflected. If you have a red eye reduction in your camera enable
it. It will flash several times before hand, so the eye already
knows whats comming, and makes the retina smaller, so the blood
vessels are "saved". Thus the red is not reflected back
to the camera lens.
If you dont have red eye reduction, try taking of your flash and
hold it a bit away from the lens of your camera, that way the light
is not directly reflected back to the lens. reducing red eyes.
